The Audio Converter lives in the SoundBoost app under Free Tools. It turns one audio file into another format at the bit depth and sample rate you choose, which is exactly what you need when a distributor wants 16-bit 44.1 kHz WAV and your master is a 24-bit 48 kHz file, or the other way round.
#Using it
- Drop a file or press Select FileWAV, MP3, FLAC, OGG, AAC, M4A or AIFF, up to 1 GB. A waveform preview appears so you can check it is the right take.
- Choose Conversion OptionsOutput Format, Bit Depth and Sample Rate. The page proposes settings that match your source; change what you need.
- Check Conversion DetailsSource and target side by side: format, bit depth, sample rate and file size.
- Press CONVERTSigned out? The page asks you to log in first; a free account is enough. The conversion runs on our side and the finished file downloads on its own.

- Input can be any of the seven formats, including WAV files up to 32-bit.
- One file per conversion. Queue the next one when the download lands.
- The downloaded file is named after the source with the settings appended, for example mytrack-WAV-24bit-48kHz.wav, so you always know what a file is.
#Good to know
- Converting up does not add quality. A 16-bit MP3 turned into 24-bit WAV is the same audio in a bigger box; useful for compatibility, not for sound.
- The file is uploaded for the conversion and the copies are removed from our side within a day. It is not added to your projects.
- Nothing here costs credits or a plan, ever.
Why can I not pick 24-bit for MP3?
MP3 has no bit depth in that sense; the option is fixed at 16 so the setting is honest.
Can I convert a whole folder?
Not in one go. It is one file per run, but a run takes about as long as reading this sentence.
My file is over 1 GB
That is a very long file at a very high sample rate. Export it at 48 kHz, or split it into parts; most of the time 48 kHz is all it ever needed.
