#What it does

Upload a song and the free standard 5 Stem mode gives you Vocals, Drums, Bass and Other, plus a generated Metronome track. Guitar and piano share Other; dedicated Guitar and Piano channels are part of the optional paid 7 Stem mode. The stems land in the Studio, a lightweight multitrack mixer in the browser.

Practice any instrument for free: solo the bass to learn the line, mute the drums and play along, mute the vocals for karaoke, slow the song down without changing key, transpose to match your voice, follow guitar, ukulele or piano chord diagrams, and read synced lyrics. Playing your practice mix inside the Studio is free; saving it as a single mixed audio file requires membership.

Web MP3 stem downloads have a free rolling 24-hour allowance. Mix and HD WAV exports require membership. You can keep practicing without downloading. Export and download.

The Studio runs at studio.soundboost.ai and inside two mobile apps: the main SoundBoost app, and a standalone app called Vocal Remover - Stem Splitter for people who only want stems. The core (splitting, mixer, tempo, pitch, chords, lyrics, drum separation, export) is the same everywhere; a few things such as Voice Clean, imports and sending a mix to mastering are web only. How good is the separation?

Very good on modern, well-produced music. Dense guitar walls and reverb tails can leak a little between stems; the Hi-Fi option reduces that bleed noticeably. Vocals and drums are the strongest stems; bass is close behind.

Is the stem splitter always free for instrument practice?

Yes. Standard 5 Stem splitting and instrument practice are always free, with no trial expiry or daily or monthly upload quota. Solo, mute, loops, tempo, pitch, chords, lyrics and the metronome are included. Downloads have separate platform-specific limits. Free features and limits.

Will reaching a download limit stop my practice?

No. Keep uploading songs, making standard splits and practicing in the Studio for free. Only saving files is affected by the download allowance.

Can I split a whole album?

One song at a time, up to 22 minutes 30 seconds each. Long live sets need to be cut first.

Is it the same as the Voice Cleaner?

Same studio, different model. Voice Clean removes noise from speech recordings and gives you a clean track plus everything it removed.
