Export and download
Download single stems, a zip of several, or one rendered mix of what is audible. MP3 or HD WAV, with your loop, tempo, pitch and balance applied on request.
#Stems or mix
| Type | What you get | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Stems | Each ticked stem as its own file; several at once come as a zip | DAW sessions, remixes, sample packs |
| Mix | One file rendered from everything currently audible, respecting solo, mute and faders. Members only | Karaoke (mute vocals), backing tracks (mute your instrument), acapellas (solo vocals) |
| Loop | Appears when a loop is selected: just that region, as stems or as a mix | Practice clips, drum loops, samples |
#Formats
- MP3 at 320 kbps. Stems are rendered as MP3 by the splitter, so this is the native format.
- HD WAV is a lossless conversion for members. Use it when the stems go into a session or a release.
- Drum elements from drum separation export exactly like stems.
#Apply your changes
An Apply Changes section appears when you have changed something: tick Tempo, Pitch, Volume or Pan to bake the current Studio settings into the download. Leave them off for clean originals; turn them on when you want the slowed-down, transposed practice version as a file. Mix exports always respect solo and mute.
#The free download window
Splitting and mixing in the Studio are free. Stem downloads as MP3 on a free account or as a guest are limited to one project in any rolling 24 hours. Mix downloads and WAV in any form are for members.
| Where | Free MP3 downloads in any 24 hours |
|---|---|
| Web (studio.soundboost.ai and the free landing pages) | One project free per 24 hours; after that a membership is needed |
| SoundBoost app (iOS and Android) | First project free, then a membership |
| Vocal Remover - Stem Splitter app | Downloads need a membership |
Members download without limits everywhere, in both formats. Voice Clean projects have their own separate window, so cleaning a recording does not use up your stem downloads.
Where do the files go?
On the web, to your browser downloads (a zip when you pick several stems). On mobile, through the share sheet on iOS and into Downloads/SoundBoost on Android.
Are the stems the same sample rate as my upload?
Stems are encoded to 320 kbps MP3; HD WAV is the lossless version of the same render. For mastering-grade stems, upload lossless and use Hi-Fi.
Can guests download?
Yes, MP3 stems only, within the same 24-hour window, tied to the browser that made the split. Log in to keep projects and to lift the limits with a membership.
What file names do I get?
A single stem downloads as "Project - Vocals.mp3"; several stems come as "Project - Stems (MP3).zip".
